Based at Sabina Plaza, Nyamira, serving young people across Nyamira County since 2025.
Vijana Jiseti CBO exists to empower young people in Nyamira County to take charge of their mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and economic future — through accessible programs, honest conversations, and community-driven support.
A Nyamira where every young person has the knowledge, support, and opportunity to thrive — mentally well, informed about their health, and economically self-reliant.
Vijana Jiseti CBO started in 2025 around a simple observation: young people in Nyamira were carrying a lot on their own. Stress and silence around mental health, questions about their bodies and their rights that nobody would answer plainly, and very few doors into steady income.
A small group of young volunteers began holding open conversations — in classrooms, on football pitches, and in borrowed halls. Those conversations grew into peer groups, then into structured programs. Today we work out of Sabina Plaza in Nyamira town, alongside schools, health facilities, faith groups and county partners.
Our values
Every young person we meet is treated with respect — no lectures, no shaming, no judgement.
We work with families, schools, health workers and local leaders, not around them.
We give accurate information plainly, even when the subject is uncomfortable.
Our aim is young people who can carry the work forward themselves.
Vijana Jiseti CBO is governed by a constitution adopted by our members in Nyamira County on 29 March 2025. It sets out our vision, core values, the three core pillars, membership, governance, financial management and our safeguarding commitments. We publish it in full so partners, donors and the young people we serve can see exactly how we work.
